Film Funding and
funding akin to it (kick-starter, crowd funding etc.) are becoming popular
amongst savvy investors in which they are keen to invest. Film Funding in
particular remains a hotspot for investments and potentially huge returns.
There are noted risks with Film
Funding which leaves it to only the most experienced and savvy to
invest in.
The most
successful funded Film of all time is Paranormal Activity. The film cost about
$15,000 to make-an extremely small figure for a film released. The average
budget for films released in cinema’s stretches into the millions. However, the
film was well made, thought out and was largely innovative. The return? Close
to $200 million. The film made its budget and 13,000 times over it.
Funded films
like Paranormal Activity can be successful through innovation and appeal. It
was a horror film and filmed like a semi-documentary; fly on the wall if you
will. In 2007, it coincided with the release of the film Clover field, another
similarly themed film so the appeal was certainly there.
In recognising
appeals and trends within cinema, investors can be sure to make their returns
and help also contribute to successful films. If approached with a great deal
of innovation while being similarly themed, films can be truly a success.
While the risks
are apparent and obvious, the potential for returns is vast and it is no wonder
as to why businesses are adopting film
funding opportunities for investors.
